Show Notes

Host Becky Hennesy sits down with her good friend Cherry Irvin to discuss her journey of grieving from a family tragedy that took the life of her first husband and one of her daughters. Cherry's life is full of twists and turns that will encourage women (and men!) to keep pushing ahead and tackle life's challenge as they come.

Cherry grew up the daughter of a pastor and accepted Jesus early in life.  But what she witnessed at church was quite different from what she experienced inside her home. It led to a lot of questions about her Christian faith and the role of church in her life.

Yet Cherry never strayed from serving Jesus. Together they have walked on a wild journey from attending dance school as a teenager (a decision her mother initially strongly opposed), to joining the Air Force for six years, to connecting with a Spirit-filled church...and later, the  horrifying news of a fatal family car accident that nearly broke her will to live. Listeners will hear how Cherry patiently walked through the very necessary process of grieving.

Now remarried to Richard, they have a blended family.  Plus, they adopted two more children! Cherry's life has been re-framed and refreshed by God and she's going full steam ahead in the second half of her life.
